Send Bangladeshis back Bangladesh as soon as possible from Afghanistan.

Bring Bangladeshis back from Afghanistan as soon as possible 💜 👈

We hope the foreign ministry will adhere to its commitment to bring back the Bangladeshis stranded in Afghanistan within a week. According to government accounts, there were 29 Bangladeshis working in Afghanistan as employees of the non-government organisation BRAC and with government development programmes including telecommunications. BRAC has been operating its various development projects in Afghanistan for years. Besides, a number of Bangladeshi engineers have been working in the country’s largest telecommunication service Afghan Wireless.

After the collapse of the former government of Ashraf Ghani followed by the Taliban takeover of power on 15 August, the situation in the country took a new turn. Although Taliban leaders have repeatedly assured that the security of foreign nationals will be ensured, the situation remains uncertain. The Taliban have noted form the government yet. 👈

Their state state policy remains unclear. In this situation it is natural that the stranded Bangladeshis and their families are in deep anxiety. From the beginning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been making diplomatic efforts to bring back the Bangladeshis. 💘💙

On a note of hope, five Bangladeshis have managed to leave Kabul, three of them with the assistance of the United Nations while two with US help. The two who were rescued by US authorities used to work at the US military base. Although the border or Afghanistan and Uzbekistan was closed, air communication was open.

Bangladesh embassy in Afghanistan closed down a few years ago due to the war situation in the country. Bangladesh embassy in Uzbekistan used to look after diplomatic issues with Afghanistan. After the recent crisis emerged, Bangladesh foreign ministry has asked the stranded Bangladeshis to communicate with the embassy in Tashkent.

Bangladeshi ambassador to Uzbekistan, Jahangir Alam, told Prothom Alo that the authorities responded positively to the request for transit to bring Bangladeshis back to Uzbekistan. The Uzbek government issued visas to two Bangladeshis within an hour. If the rest of the Bangladeshis in Kabul want to return to the country through Uzbekistan, there will be no problem with visas. However, some Bangladeshis living in Afghanistan have stated that they are not willing to return to the country at present. They want to monitor the situation for a few more days.

After the Taliban took over Kabul on 15 August, the policy of the Bangladesh government to monitor the situation there without making any hasty decision was realistic. It would not be right to take any decision about Afghanistan that could harm our national interests or have a negative impact on geopolitics.

We hope that this diplomacy of the government will be successful and all the citizens who wish to leave Afghanistan will be able to return home safely. We expect adept and strong diplomatic efforts from the government in this regard.

Extended military deadline to exit Afghanistan is 'unlikely' as the situation becomes'more dangerous,' according the defence secretary.

Afghanistan: Exit deadline extension 'unlikely' as situation gets 'more dangerous' - defence secretary

The deadline for removing soldiers out of Afghanistan, set on August 31, is "unlikely" to be extended, according to Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, as the nation becomes "more and more dangerous."

Speaking to Sky News, he said: "As we get closer it's correct to say the security risk goes up, it gets more and more dangerous.

"Add-on groups and other terrorist groups like ISIS would like to be seen taking credit, would like to be seen chasing the West out of Afghanistan."

Boris Johnson is joining a G7 leaders' summit online today where he will call on US President Joe Biden to extend the 31 August deadline for pulling all US troops out of Afghanistan.

But the Taliban told Sky News the end of the month was a "red line" and there would be "consequences" if that was extended.

On whether Mr Biden will extend that deadline, Mr Wallace said: "I think it's unlikely, not only because of what the Taliban has said but also the public statement from President Biden.

"It's worth us all trying, and we will."

Ban all kinds of destructive online games

All kind of harmful video games should be prohibited.

The court also imposed a ruling requiring government officials to explain why their failure to ban online games and apps such as TikTok, Likee, Bigo Live, PUBG, and FreeFire should not be ruled illegal within 10 days.

The court also asked the authorities to show cause why they shouldn't be ordered to form a technical committee to monitor online games and apps and make necessary recommendations, but also why they shouldn't be ordered to publish a code of conduct or guideline to help victims of such harmful games and apps.

In the guideline, the authorities are also requested to explain why they should not be directed to analyze how much money has been spent on such online games and apps, as well as to bring the people involved in the transactions to justice.

Following a writ petition seeking required directions, the HC bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah issued the order and issued the rule, Assistant Attorney General Golam Sarwar Payel told The Daily Star.

On behalf of the Law and Life Foundation, Supreme Court lawyers Mohammad Humayun Kabir Pallob and Mohammed Kawsar filed the writ petition with the HC on June 24 as a public interest litigation.

They asked the HC to force the government's concerned authorities to identify the individuals involved in the billions of taka transactions and money laundering behind such apps and games.
The petitioners also asked the HC to appoint a committee of engineers, educators, and legal to submit suggestions to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission on how to ban dangerous games and apps for youngsters.

Young people have gotten addicted to online games and apps such as TikTok, Likee, Bigo Live, PUBG, and FreeFire, according to the petitioners, and as a result, social values, education, and culture have already been hurt.

The petitioners claim that children are acting in violent and unethical behavior as a result of their use of such online games and applications, and that such games and apps should be prohibited immediately.
